Hey guys, there's a good deal on the new G9x right now but I'm having trouble letting my MX518 go. It's been such a good mouse over the years, but some people say it's worth the upgrade. I use most of the buttons on it, including the sensitivity buttons. I wish I knew how to make a poll on this site, because that might be better. But anyways, what do you guys think?

Ain't an easy choice at all, but i've heard people like the mx518 more. But it all depends on what you prefer. Anyways you might also check coolermaster's sentinel, have'nt used it personally but you have to admit it has wicked looks with it's little screen!

I agree with assulter 99, some people prefer the MX518 while others swear by their G9. Personally, I would not bother to buy the G9x as MX518 is already an excellent mouse.

Your supposed to help me narrow my search, not expand it but suggesting other mice. :)

I must admit, though, the Coolermaster mouse does look pretty sweet.

They are both good mice, so it goes down to looks and price. If your budget permits a g9, why not? It does seem a bit blocky though compared to the mx 518 which seems sleekier. My take, keep your mx 518.

I like the looks of this mouse too: http://www.techpowerup.com/108728/Mionix_Announces_new_Naos_5000_Gaming_Mouse.html I haven't found any retailers that carry it yet. I know you didn't want to expand your search. The G9x is a bit wider & feels a bit shorter in length too. I like the rubber palm surface, I hate when I get sweaty palms from some intense gaming. Really, it all comes down to what is comfortable for you.

I own both the MX518 and the G9. The G9 is hands down superior. The MX518 is a fantastic gaming mouse and I used mine for years but now its used as a laptop mouse. The G9 is AWESOME.
