My GTS450 OC

Hello guys, this is my GTS450 GF116 overclock on my old PC. It runs stable for now (30 minutes) but I am into testing it more. I am at stock cooling and highest GPU temp for now is 72C. It is a Gainward card.

I ran a 670m (GF114) for 3 years at 620, boosting it to 700 for BF3, that was capped at 900mV core so it maxed out at around 820MHz. Temps were usually in the mid 70s.

What voltage are you getting ATM? Those clocks are pretty decent, quite a bit beyond what the larger chips will happily get. Not really sure of the VRM, it might suffer if you push the chip too far, 40nm is pretty solid when it comes to high voltages when compared to newer 28nm stuff. The 670m had a pretty rubbish VRM, so the voltage drooped to ~870mV when i was running benchmarks at max clocks, I might pull it out and try to run it a bit with a custom VRM some time...

you can try but youd be better off maybe going up to atleast a 6 series card now.

Welcome to TPU! I used to have one of those...great card. That's a pretty good overclock, but I'm not sure how much more you can get out of it if you want it to last. I don't remember my OC, but it wasn't that high.

It's never getting above 60C @1,15V I have modded the cooler. It's just on an old PC tho.. I use 970 g1 sli on this PC, but that's another story. I just wanted to see how far it can go stable. This is highest I could get it stable for 24h. I wouldn't try any higher as I am happy with the current OC settings.

Not sure on how 40nm handles voltage, but if it's anything like 32nm you could probably take it to 1.3 pretty easily, as long as your VRM is good enough. Don't quote me on the safe voltages, as I've never ran Fermi over 1v

you could overclock that to the moon and it still would't matter
slow card is slow
