When I built my new AMD system, I went completely AM3. Of course, you don't have to have a $200 motherboard like me, but that was what I chose. I have the 955BE and it is a great processor. What's your budget? I bought the processor for $200, a cheap set of 4GB G.Skill DDR3-1600 for around $80, and you can get a pretty nice board for fairly cheap.

I just started taking stuff out, and found a cable shorted out. It is one of those adapters so you can hook up an extra fan. The wire melted and hit the case. Looks like it is all working, at least for now.

    close one for sure!

sure is, but I am thinking I might sell the mobo+ram+processor+heatsinks all together now. Maybe go ahead and return to AMD & DDR3 ram. Some good deals out there atm!
