Yes you are right.
But I am trying XP and linux just to check what is at fault.
Latest update:
My linux installation on spare 500GB hdd also has restarted.

What the problem who is at fault ???

Hard drive maybe ...you need to test it

Have you changed the BIOS settings ? You know having the wrong SATA setting will cause restarts

So what I did till now:

1. I tested with 2nd PSU ... PC restarts.
2. I removed 3 sticks of RAMs total 24GB could not remove the last one as it is stuck below my huge cpu cooler... PC restarts.
3. Tried to installed Linux on different hard drives ... PC restarts.

Installing XP 3 with IDE option

Wondows xp service pack 3 succeasfully installed.

Till now NO system restarts.

Will keep system up for atleast an hour to confirm.

Unfortunately i dont think my motherboard will have drivers for xp 3 version to check further
But I want to use win 7 only.

if you run xp you have no restart, there must be something on 7 that make it restart

do you reset your bios too before installing new OS?

you dont need to. as stated above by others and myself, sometimes the default settings are NOT correct, and would only cause you more problems (example: XP prefers IDE mode, but for an SSD on windows 7 or newer, you need AHCI)

edit: you asked the question as i already typed it, but yes, AHCI.

Currenty i am installing win 7 32 bit with IDE option
Which works for win XP

Just trying...

Note this is new win 7 install dvd.

I will select AHCI once fails.

and yeah you could go ahci but ide is fine but ide give you some limitation

Its not the board. It was his 7 install was bad. Just do a fresh install 7 AHCI as recommended about 15 post ago

No reason to try IDE. Go ahead and wipe the SSD

How can it be inatallation disk?
My system was getting restarted suddenly after it worked well for few months.
Installation problem occured later while doing fresh install.
Now i am installing on sata hdd not SSD.

Once done i will format SSD and try to install fresh win 7 64 bit with AHCI on SSD

However I still dont know whether I should update BIOS and do manual voltage settings to RAMs or ao as this is new to me.

you should definitely do both. the rams required settings will be written on them - if they support XMP, just enable that in your BIOS.

So what I did till now:

1. I tested with 2nd PSU ... PC restarts.

3. Tried to installed Linux on different SATA HDD hard drive ... PC restarts.
4.Tried to install WIN XP 3 on sata HDD it worked NO restarts.
5. Installed WIN 7 32 bit with new install CD on sata HDD it worked, NO restarts. So I formatted my SSD with NON-quick option and installed writing software to wipe the rewrittable dvd to burn new image on WIN 7 64bit with 2X Speed with "verify after write "option selected.
6. Installed newly burned WIN 7 64 bit with same rewritable DVD on SSD it worked. NO restarts.

So though my PC with win 7 64bit is running well for last 7 -8 hours. with one stick of ram instead of 4. It is still not known why it did not work well before...?

as above it should not have been restarted when I was installing Linux with new install CD on separate SATA HDD because on the same HDD later WIN XP installation worked... :confused:

Though I have done two changes:-
1. WIPE SSD fully, not quick....
2. Rewrite WIN 7 install media again with rewritable dvd with 2X speed.

It is still not known why it did restart when I was installing Linux on same SATA HDD where WIN XP installation worked...?

I gave entire whole yesterday troubleshooting this things just to know that it just worked well automatically without resolving any particular issue.

My firend had the same restart problem i found out that the case wires were damaged. I had an extra case changed it and problem solved.

I suspect this might be the problem as I am having many many wires in my case for lots of stuffs but still not sure.
