So I happen to have laying around two of my old gpu's that at some point stopped working. I just forgot what the exact issue was with them. Well today I tested them out and as it turns out they both seem to show the same behavior.
After installing them in the case, and powering up the pc. The small speaker in the PC beep's and POSTS without a problem up until the windows starts loading. Then the PC restarts about two times before starting automatic repair.
After going through the troubleshooting options it lets me boot into windows but only in Safe mode. From there I'm able to see that the GPU's are not dead, but wont work or let windows boot up. If I was able to go into windows and start GPU-z and save the original Bios I might try to flash a new version on them from our database on TPU. But without getting ahead of myself I might try installing DDU and reinstalling the drivers. I'm just not sure I can do that from Safe mode.
What should I do to try and fix them?
Now given that the image the R9 280x is showing with the lines all over the screen it is probably a lost cause, but I would like to try to fix at least the HD 7850.
