Need Help Choosing A Mobo

Alright ladies and gents, currently the motherboard I have is just a basic budget friendly board. It was put in by my friend when he built the PC and since then I bought his rig and am looking to replace it. The mobo that is. Currently it has an Asus M5A87. Like I said, pretty basic. So I was doing some looking around and think I have narrowed it down to three but can't decide which one. So, which do you guys think and why? Or, do you think a different one all together?

System specs to go by:
AMD FX-8120
8.00GB Ripjaw X @1600
Nvidia GTX 680
1TB Seagate HDD

Plan to add an SSD here shortly. Would like to run a couple of video cards together, but not sure when that will happen. Listed below are the three I have narrowed it down to....

I think that an 8120 might be too much for those VRMs. The poor board doesn't have a heatsink on the VRMs. You would have zero overhead for overclocking. You may want to consider something else like a FX-6300 instead.

Ahh, I did forget to mention that currently the CPU is overclocked and runs fine temps. I forgot to mention that there is a big block aftermarket heatsink installed.

That doesn't cool the VRMs. You also haven't said what's running in it now. I still believe you should scale down a bit to a 6300 on that board. If you're not running an 8c FX CPU now, you're not anywhere close to the kind of power consumption you'll see with that kind of CPU.

A 970 Extreme 4 can handle a 8350 ocd but its limited. So in honesty id definitely go with a 990FX chipset.

So either of those Asrocks would be adequate, correct?

Yes they would a 8 phase or greater design is preferred

Get their manuals, pci e configs are the limitations i think the fatality has the killer nic which isnt any better than onboard intel controller.

Yeah I was doing some reading and I think I determined that for me, the extra $45 isn't worth it

Fatality professional, Extreme 4, Extreme 9 are the choices id say. Extreme 6 is limited in peg slot config.

I think MSI 970 GAMING 6+2power phase is best answer for your build part.MSI have good quality than Asrock.
