So I have this Windows 95 Image file that I need to mount as a Virtual Hard Drive so I can Install something, but I can't find a program that will do that for me.

I have only gone as far as being able to open the .img file with WinImage, but I could not find a way to mount it with that. I have tried Magic ISO, Power ISO and other apps but none of them can read the .img file except for WinImage, which again can't mount the Virtual Hard Drive.

Does anyone know of an app that would be able to or maybe instructe me on how to use WinImage to do that if it can? Thanks.

If nothing exists, you may have to make a virtual machine using the image.

Sounds like he just needs some files from it. Winimage can extract the files you require or write them to some spare disk. Virtual harddrives seem to be more of an issue for some reason, I've been looking for it last week.

Yeah its seems like I might have to use VMware or something like that, I have no experience with that.

I'll go head and tell you guys what I am trying to do, to get rid of some confusion.

I got a DOS emulator for my PSP, then I found a windows 95.img file to mount the drive in DOS and got Windows 95 to boot on my PSP like it would normally and pretty smoothly at that. So then I got to thinking, what if I could install one of my favorite games on to that .img file on Windows 95 (The Elder Scrolls Morrowind). I could then boot windows 95, go to the programs file folder and try to run the game!

But first I have to install in there some how.

It wouldn't have the necessary graphics drivers/keyboard/mouse input. You will be dead in the water. :ohwell:

Even if all that was successfully installed, it wouldn't be compatible with directX would it(Morrowind uses that right?) What resolution will it register as?

Win95 runs at decent speed on a PSP nowadays? If so, why don't you start the installation on the PSP?

Yes, and how exactly would I insert the CD into the UMD drive if you what I mean. I have to install it from my computer then repackage it. Once I do that I can then see what other issues might arrive such as Direct X and such. I just want to see how far I can get is all. Thanks again guys.
