I wasn't sure where to post this but i am having problems with my desktop (i build my self). It had been working perfect until I did a clean install of windows 7 (which was what i was running before the clean install). I am thinking It is a driver. I have noticed this happens after i do the windows updates. I have not added any new hardware what so ever. I have cleaned out the inside of the case, re applied thermal paste and I still get the BSOD.

Do you know what the BSOD 0x0 code is? That would be the best place to start. You can either get it from the frozen BSOD screen data, or from system event logs. Many things can cause BSOD's, RAM is one of the more common culprits I see though. Keep us posted on what your BSOD code(s) are.

That indicates that hal.dll is the cause, this stands for Hardware Abstraction Layer and can be caused by a number of things including a corrupt boot sector or a failing hard drive.
If you have a Windows 7 disc, run repair start up.
If your hard disc has software you can run a disc check to ensure it is not failing.
