Need new headphones

You can try PMX60s at some retailers. Try the iPod section. They absolutely love those headphones.
The PX100s are at a good price point, and are decent 'phones. If you can get past the lookin' like a 'tard feeling that you currently have, you'd probably be better off with them.

EDIT: Ah, took too long to post, then maybe disregard...

Wait a minute... I forgot, you'd want to be able to hide them so no-one can see you use them in class... that's probably the main reason in-ear headphones are still so damned popular.

They're called earphones or inner-earphones. Headphones go on your head. See the difference?

There are studies about earphones, and how most people play them too loudly. And for longer than fifteen minutes, hearing can start to become damaged. Not worth it in my book.

I know, I know, no need to be so damned harsh, it's just a stupid habit.
I use headphones normally rather than earphones, both normally and in conversation.

I've read a lot of people swear by Shure's earphones, but those are expensive.

Well that seems to say cheaper headphones from Sennheiser are actually better than more expensive Apple ones... hmm.

Apple's price are not proportional to quality.

In fact, they have to have ridiculous prices to pay for their marketing department. Somehow they still manage a profit. :D

No, nowhere near.
Lenny Kravitz's voice and music in general breaks diamonds.

Apple's newer computers are getting more evenly priced, and the Mac Book Pro is better value than some PC laptops. Look better too, but tis true, they overcharge for a lot of the things you'd expect to be either cheap, or free.

$750 to bring 2GB to 4GB. Fucking ridiculous.

Definatly an example of their bad pricing... especially as DDR2 is dirt cheap now. I've seen 4GB RAM kits over here for ~£150, maybe even less.
Laptop kits cost more, but not THAT much more.

Okay I picked up some Sony MDR-EX71SL's and I think they're great. But I have 2 bits of beef.

The left one keeps slowly sliding out and I can hear the bass dying as it comes away from my ear.

Second, why the heck is the wire for the left earphones 4x shorter than the right one...?

Other than that, well worth the £29.99

The wires are different sizes, as the wire is meant to go around the back of the neck for the right earbud, and your left ear may be a little larger in terms of opening than your right one, or else the wire is pulling the earbud out, because of... actually, can't think of a reason why, but might be, as teh wire is shorter n all.

Hmm even when I'm sitting still it tends to slide out, I might just have to put a one size bigger bud on the left one.

Edited due to irrelevance..

They will be different, and most likely, better, and the jack will be different on them, like you said, they have a microphone, so an extra contact on the jack would be needed, or a proprietary connecter, therefore, they'd be different, so you'd spend £6 on buying something that you wouldn't be able to use, and even if you could use it, would be useless, compared to your new earphones

Woops, sorry, got myself into a curfuffel there.
I think MY brain is crapping out.
Yours will be better, just like the headphones freely given with MP3 players and other mobile phones, 3rd party ones are always, or nearly always, better (my Sony MP3 player had some pretty decent ones, matched my brother's £30 Sony 'phones, which was nice)
