I want to overclock my Radeon 9600 (just 9600, NOT pro or anything).

1.I've herd of flashing the card's BIOS, would that be necesary for a 9600? If it is, how do you do that?

2.Any good fans I could buy for Radeon 9600?

3.ATI Tool doesn't let me do Fan Control & Temp Mon. How can I activate that? (and PLEASE don't say you can't with a 9600, last year I had ATI TOOL,old version, and it let me do both of those features). ANYONE got the old versions of ATI Tool? I would GREATLY appreaciate having them.

    4. Anything I need to know about overclocking 9600? Tips and tricks with it (if any)?

----Also, what is the fastest, cheapest AGP 8x card I could buy? So far a Radeon 9600XT seems good to me. (looking to buy a card under 80bucks :p only 9600XT fits the criteria so far ^_^ )

NOTE: I'll be checking this psot often, and replying often to ^_^ New questions always pop up to my mind that need answering!

Not trying to be rude or anything, *cough* *looks at previous post* but the guy does have a valid point...go buy an X600 or something...they're cheap right...? Anyway, they have better features...meh, it's up to you. 9600...what? Like, asus, gigabyte...what? And does it already have a fan and heatsink on it?

    ok dude listen to me.
1 your card will overclock to about 460/250
2 you dont flash these cards
3 you dont need a better fan
4 the rv350 has no temp chip the rv360 does but thats the xt core
5 there are no tricks its just a old sucky card.
6 dont be stupid and just save up for a x1600 or somthing.

they dont kick out much heat.

    yeah thats right.

azure i can garentee you cannot temp monitor or control fan speed. temp monitoring was only available on the xt's in the 9x00 range so ati could use the overdrive to safley overclock without frying cards. temp monitoring chips became very important on the x800 cards due to the high heat output. also from this heat came the need to control fan speed as people hate loud fans almost as much as dead hardware so they used temp to control speeds to find a happy middleground. none of this was needed on the 9x00 cards so it isnt there.

huh....yeah, I'm not gonna try Volt Modding LOL

I'll just stick to ATI Tool and buying better fan and heatsink.

Umm...is there any other good program like ATI Tool you can use?
