This is for TPU members who are helping other TPU members. If you intend to order these CPUs to build and sell OEM machines please do not contact the members on this list. Please send PMs to people on this list. Do not announce that you want something from MC. This thread is not for people to set up transactions, but to list contacts that live near Microcenters/Fry's Electronics. All information about trade should be kept private.

There's a couple folks around TPU who live close to Microcenters/Fry's Electronics. IF you've got some sort of holiday need from Microcenter/Fry's, give a PM to someone in this thread. I'm going to be updating this thread with the names of people who live close to Microcenters/Fry's. If you do live close to MC/Fry's, give me a PM, or just post here.

The most common things people want from MCs are i7 920s (199.99 USD) and i5 750s (189.99 USD)

I suggest everyone interested in volunteering to be on this list make it clear they'd like to be added.

Please follow some safe trading guidelines when making arrangements with members of TPU for a trip to Microcenter.

This should help people find out if they live near a MC:

I live in Florida so I am not near one.

I have no major retailer who specializes in electronic "crack" anywhere near my location. Not even close.

    Nice idea binge.

Should I need new Hardware would one of you lovely people be able to buy and ship to me even from I'm in mery old England?

I won't be buying anything big due to postage being epic over 2.2 lb but often times stuff still works out cheaper importing from America.

even if I gave a member petrol money aswell : /

Yay for living in a country that rapes you for hardware ^_^

Other then HDDS, they cost less here :p

I wouldn't mind doing that for ya Panther. I've shipped to the Netherlands before, and I doubt it would be too much different to ship your way.

:toast: noo problem. I'm not really expecting to move unless I get a PM. This thread is for getting people in the community to know who's near one of the only tech retailers that doesn't ship to your door.

Maybe someone will offer to pick up my i7 already  Why is it that MC will only ship the crap no one wants/needs to be shipped :ohwell:

I'm confused by that one. No offense intended. Approach people listed at the top of the thread who you trust if you want to work something out.

Oh, I had been looking and asking a few people to see if they would pick up an i7 for me from MC. Just thought it was funny that now this thread shows up.

Also, MC does ship I think- just nothing that people really demand (read: CPUs).

hey binge, do you live near the one in St.Davids? I go to that one sometimes, but it's about 50 miles from where I am in Jersey. I was planning on driving out there some time to pick up an i7 920.

Would you be willing to pick one up for me and shipping it to me? I'd appreciate it!

    List updated.

    Here's what I generally ask.

    Say it's a i7 920. 199+6% for sales tax+12 gas+9.50 max for flat rate shipping. $233.50 total for a new unopened D0

Answer to the guy from jersey is that I live near enough, and every time I'm asked to go out and pick up a 920 I visit my grandad who lives 2 min away. It's kind of a bonus.

To ask me to pick something up I need to be contacted via PM. I only check this thread to update it, and I shouldn't have to hunt down people who want me to do a chore for them.

I was just there yesterday. Picked up a PNY GX275 for $189. I actually live on the same road, only about 30 miles south of it.

Please add me to the list Binge, I live in Orange County and I am about 20 miles away from the MC in Tustin. I would be happy to help out my fellow TPU'ers.:) My only rule is that I cannot front the money, their usps money order or Paypal would have to clear into my bank before I am able to purchase and ship the item.
