Not sure if anyone else will be into short - or not so short - bouts of watching streamers torture themselves with an impossible feat that should take months to complete. The setup is so devious that rage quits and emotional breakdown highlights are likely to find their way here.

Keyword: Deep Dip 2

Trackmania tower with no check or save points that is stated to get harder as it progresses. That means if you spend 10 hours reaching a high point and fall - the very beginning is where you restart. 10 hours is not unreasonable for the halfway point. :roll:

NSFW in whole form so no links. Too lazy to dig out clips rn. Early frontrunners below. :laugh:

Scrapie on T__tch

Mobile gacha investment hot tips, weebs, Belgian accented cursing, chat wall of booba. All in all a hilarious unreadable and nearly unwatchable mess.

Jasper Undergo on YT

Day one YT spammed me with his 0 viewer stream. Over the course of two minutes [ed. 20 minutes] he downed majority a pint bottle of hard liquor and chased it with two bottles of beer. Definition of "in the mud."

@Chomiq
Please expand your shortcoming into the form of a question from it's current statement. :p:p

Edit: HAhaha, Wirtual has been the easiest streamer to track. Heart rate monitor dipping from the low 100's BPM to below 70 BPM as the stress mounted was a key sign. That means he is outside ability to cope with ongoing stress and is rapidly wearing down his body with every second of continued effort.

Today he looks like the living dead. After a solid minute collapse on stream with head buried in hands. The most demotivating Jazz track possible started playing and.. "We go again."

Only the beginning.

Edit Two: Now that we have entered International airspace outside of Floorway (Floorewegian/Norwegian). Feel free to unbuckle your belts and relax until we reach our destination, Snoreway (New strategy of sleeping with the game open after requiring multiple hours reaching a higher floor.)

If this gets too sad I'm going to ask a mod to lock it.

Still too early to pluck out any full meltdowns. Everyone has settled upon the term despair or something less PG rated in their native language within the last few days. Everyone being the top 20 or so players in the world who have almost all removed their face cam and largely ceased active commentary or correspondence with their chat. Or just gave up on playing for numerous days.

DD1 finish was repeated with less than 60 hours of time invested. 120 hours by the most devoted is hardly enough to regularly reach half height and is by no means halfway through completing the tower. 100 hours streaming in a week with probably around 20 more offline plus dozens watching video of other players. Totally sustainable :ohwell:

Oh?

Remind me if you were involved in the discussion on spending every waking second in a game and then hoping your console didn't melt being left on while you slept because there were no checkpoints that allowed restarting anywhere but the beginning. The discussion on how games nowadays are too easy.

This is not about charting meltdowns. It is about being an edgy tough to deal with person lacking sleep as opposed to the emotionally disturbed mentalities contributing to societal decay. It is about needing to maintain a commercially viable, ad friendly, personal brand as opposed to enjoying gaming.

@nomdeplume what are your thoughts on this game streaming business sustainability in the long run? I think that it reached its peak popularity during the lockdowns, and now it's steadily declining. I feel that soon enough people will start to realize, and being forced by other more important upcoming life events, that the time spent watching other people waste their precious time will eventually lead them to think about investing their own into activities filled with something more rewarding than a mostly cheap and shallow on-screen entertaining experience.
Slightly off-topic, with multiple goals in mind.

@Veseleil

I think it is easier for the masses who are collectively less skilled to remain attentive to what is going on than it is for the person playing.

Game streaming falls less in the category of watching a physical sport than I feel many here would place it. Years back having 10 people you'd never otherwise deal with over to your house simply to watch you do something was pretty common. Or being one of those 10 lucky people to experience something. Smaller world, but streaming often can contain the same ideas on what proves practical to access a variety of entertainment options through. 10 people watching a sport lacks energy feeding into or upon the moment.

Lockdown(s) if anything proved the corporate world had fully eclipsed the longstanding separation between work and personal time. Kids who grew up with a native understanding of this seemingly spending hours of precious time, spending actual money, to laugh about passing around a single brain cell between the few thousand of them in attendance... all entertainment is a cheap and shallow business. A single cell always present in a location is normal, 10 unrelated cells arriving in one place... a collection point.

This type of gaming is more my jam. Also, my brain's current state, relevant, I guess? Weird thread. But I am also feeling weird.
