So I was surfing the internet about 45 minutes ago and I had to reboot my computer. Upon coming back to the desktop, Xfire tries to log in and it doesnt. Fails. Tried starting up Firefox and it says Connection Failure in the lower right hand corner of the browser. I tried IE and it says that page cant be displayed.

I can not get my desktop to connect to the internet. I have checked the BIOS settings to make sure that nothing got disabled and nothing did. I checked the network connection in control panel and both LAN ports on the motherboard work fine. The network and sharing center shows that I am connected to both the home network and the internet yet I still cannot access it. Out of four computers in the house, my desktop is the only one affected by this. I tried both LAN ports on the motherboard and that was a no go.

What would be the likely cause of this and how can I fix it?

    TIA

Normally I'd guess DNS first. Are you getting a LAN IP from your router?
