    Hello everyone,
I have never done any over clocking before, but have decided to try it and see if I can get a little bit more from my computer,
Here is what my system is.

Love to help but know nothing about amd overclocking ! Just start by increasing the 200fsb to 205. Shouldnt require any additional voltages or tweaks. Work from there until the pc becomes unstable then increase mch(northbridge) and cpu voltage a tiny bit.

It's best to read up on some of the overclocking basics first though so you don't accidentally damage anything

First off let me ask you some simple generic questions.

What type of cooling do you have?

Munki taking into account he has a 9400gt I'd think it was a ready built pc so would be using stock cooling.

8gb of Gskill RAM and a Tri SLI MB has me thinking this is no prebuilt.

I have no exp with PhenomII's but I believe the AMD OC sticky should still be of value (voltage guidelines will not).

Kind of wild to be those specs. I don't really care unless he shows back up. If it is in fact stock cooling, you need not touch anything until he gets proper cooling.

Yeah, those were my thoughts as well, hence why I asked the question. My friend and I got his 945 to 4ghz from 3GHz with little effort.

I would say stat off with something easy and small go into the bios and set the multiplier to 16x.Thats something that stock volts and stock cooling both can pull off. They later try 17x and stress test it using OCCT linpack for atleast 1hr and use Core temp to check temps

i wouldn't feel bad its his/her fault if he does. I have overclocked on stock cooling and not had any problems(usually don't if its a mild overclock). Like i said it would be HIS/HER FAULT which means i'm NOT responsible in anyway at all and i won't feel bad if he/she does burn something up

the gt9400 is why I'm trying to get a little more out of it until I can afford better card,
    custom build, my first
I did discover that the bios has pre set steps for Over clocking 3% 5% 10% 15% 20% and 30%
I'm on the 10% step now, letting it run a bit then will try the 15%.
while I have you here, when tax time comes around is when Ill upgrade my video
looking to spend 2-300 what card(s) (Nvidia) Bad luck with Ati) would you recommend)

my bad as well i also didnt mean to try and be argumentative. I just didnt want to OP to think that we had a disregard for her if she blew up her rig which im sure if that was the case you being an AMD guy would be one of the first their to try and ressurect it.
