New 2 PCI-E. What 2nd card 2 purchase?

    Hi all, new 2 all this stuff. I do have a EVGA NVIDEA GeoForce 9800GT PCI-E. Want 2 purchase 2nd card, but is this PCI-E like SLI where u have 2 have the same exact card? Or just what r my options?

    Yes, you need an SLI capable motherboard and an SLI bridge in order for it to work. What are your system specs?

    Sure. Have non SLI mobo & due 2 lack of $ i went with the PCI-E. My ? is do I have 2 purchase 4 my 2nd card one that is identical (as with SLI) or what m I looking 2 buy?

    i think he was asking if its like ati were you can crossfire different cards
    the anweser is no
    then he said he couldnt come up with the money for another card?

    you have to have the same card not same brand
    your motherboard is sli ready

    Yes it is, though I meant at the purchase of my build I couldn't afford the needed changes 2 have the SLI. Went with the cheaper PCI-E. Thanks Assassian48 that is what I needed 2 know...Thanks all
