The Lenovo is a very good choice. the quality of their products is certainly good. I believe that model has
a bay for a second gt755m. so you can use sli :D but I'm not sure.

Yes it has a bay but that bay is either for SSD, extra fan OR extra graphic card, since this model has an SSD i think the bay is full..

No, you can't install that way, like Black.Raven already said, it is for cache purpose, I have a Y510p for 6weeks now, it is for replace my desktop(multimedia+Photoshop CC+light gaming(Thorchlight 2, Sacred 2, Broodwar, Panzers Phase 1)), I have the model with only one 755m graphic, I swaped the shdd with a Samsung 830 512mb, and the shdd I wana put in caddy in the place of odd(all already buy, but no time for swap), if you will not use the storage frequently(torrent,dc++, etc) the shdd it is more good than a usual hdd; another + it is I put Win 7 64b SP1 and work ok so far...I prefer lenovo , for me asus not look so reliable...for a hardcore gamer the dektop it is the best option...

I think the shdd would be just fine for me, maybe i install an extra fan in the bay. As you have, I'm also thinking of installing Windows 7 SP 1 64bit, I don't like windows 8.1 as many others.

I opened the case at mine(to replace TIM), and a fan in ultrabay I don't think will make any use(after I se the inner construction), I wanna buy a cooler pad for summer, I think will do the trick with hot air...

At 22C of room, Cpu have 43C with only windows and AV, you can't see gpu temp if idle, in PS can go to 70C, and 755m to 60C...

And how fast does the cpu cool down? On my asus the fan spins at low rpm till the cpu hits 60c it takes some time for the cpu to cool down again to around 45c. My mom has an acer with i3 processor and that one can jump from 50 to about 40 in a second or so because the fan spins on and off.

WEI I don't find useful, but it is 7.6/7.7/7.1/7.1/7.9, I have SSD+ 2 logitech speakers,so this is my first laptop used nonstop(all my work/fun just on it, no desktop), and I use the last drivers from lenovo:

    Pro:
    -lenovo brand(some quality)
-this model feel premium(I have for 3 day a lenovo g500 and for 4 weeks alenovo g510), feel solid
-light keyboard (2 steps and off)
    -win 7 work ok
    -not glossy screen
    -1920x1080 resolution of screen
    -8gb ram
    -shdd 1T
    -2 ports usb 3.0
    -good configuration/high specs
    -new chipset
    -good vga
-easy to acces most of internal parts
-a lot of video/manuals for it(compared with others)
    -good webcam and microphone

    Cons:
    -no led hdd activity
-cpu works ok only with DDR3L(not fault of lenovo)
-only 3 usb ports(I am not sure it is lenovo fault)
-too much screws only to replace the shdd
-the lenovo software energy management for win 7 a little buggy
-not F keys(for those with linux it is a problem, but I use a usb keyboard anyway), it is a not official bios who can resolve that
-must install linux with at least kernel 3.12, else panic and freez(I put a linux Mageia 3)
-outdated drivers(it is a common thing on laptops)
-still not 100% desktop replacement(at least for hard gaming part), maybe on next 5years will see that
-strange trackpad, but I use a usb mouse anyway
