So put together asrock z68 pro-m + intel 3570k cpu + g.skill ares ddr3-2133 +chieftec cft-750 power.Ihave tried to clear cmos,take out battery,1 stick in diffrent slots, only with cpu and power.The fan only start 5 sek does that again when it has stopped.Can an to old bios do this ? it says on the chip 1.20 and the cpu needs atleast 2.10 or is the MB DOA ?

u sure u ain't need a bios update for that Asrock Z68 Pro-M board before u can run a i5-3570k in it?

bcs Z68 chipset is second generation and support Ivy Bridge yes but it needs a bios update to do that, and Z77 was made for Ivy Bridge but also support Sandy Bridge.

That might be one...

If you don't have a cpu that will work with your current BIO's revision, check with a local computer shop and see if they can help you out so you can get the BIO's flashed to the current version.

I don't see how it's easier to return everything and possibly pay restocking fees when you can just take your CPU cooler off and swap the chip, but whatever. It's not my computer.

At the least you could replace your thermal paste when you do this anyway.

I cant just take the cooler off the cpu , ill have to take mb out of the case to do that .
