What is your location. We can't advise something local if we don't know where you live :D

For cheap mechs

Your looking at CM storm, TTesports, Tesoro. The switches are all the same quality, but the switch colors change the feel of the keys. I'm a browns man myself.

Your looking for something like this I take it. Do you have any idea about switch type.

If you don't want a mechanical keyboard, you couldn't go wrong with the K50 Raptor from Corsair - bought myself one, really enjoying it. Hadn't ever used a mechanical one and didn't want to go all in in something I know nothing about.

At Best Buy, you're probably going to see a number or Razor and Logitech devices. The last time I walked through a Best Buy, that is pretty much all I saw.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/logitech-g710-mechanical-gaming-keyboard/6819135.p?id=1218808243010
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/razer-b...lack/2046591.p?id=1219524351538&skuId=2046591

Not saying that I recommend these keyboards, but these are 2 of the ~$100 mechanical keyboards that Best Buy would have in store/on display. I'd check some reviews out on either if those are what you're looking for.

Do you know what kind of keyboard want?

I was in your situation 2 months ago, so i looked for some info before purchasing mine, but the most important fact about my decision was my little budget, around $80, I've tried out some mechanicals like steel series 6Gv2 red switch corsair K95 and Thermaltake Meka G unit, the feel of them was a little bit strange for me because haven't used a mechanical one before, the price on them was a little bit high for them, also corsair one was so Odd… multicolor lights… and horrible design for me, meka G unit like me a lot, but still overpriced for me, also steelseries liked me so much but was little high priced for me,

also I tried out another kind of keyboard, the Plunger one! Tt eSports Knucker, its not a mechanic one, but feels almost like one, has a couple of interchangeable key caps, Gold Plated and braided USB cable and also nice looking, has no back light which I don’t care so much but has a crazy totally affordable price $ 40!!

this was my purchase and let me tell you that I don’t regret anything, ultra happy customer!!, keyboard feels awesome, cheap and cool, a little bit soft compared to a mechanical, but a little bit strong compared to singular membrane keyboard,

also Team DK uses one !There is a Team DK version, same price:

Horrible Colors…

I live in the Seattle Washington area I'm not sure if I want to go mechanical or not I have never used one before. I would like a backlit one and am not a fan of macro keys because I never got around to using them.

Without Macros and Profiles, what exactly gaming are you looking for? Seems to me any $40-50 backlit membrane board would suit you just fine since you are unsure of mech switches too!

I'd recommend just going in a Best Buy and trying them out.
Pick the one you like and use it for a month and if you have a problem with it you could just return it.
Being a 'gaming keyboard' means almost nothing. Pick what you want on a keyboard.

That makes a lot of sense I also want something that matches my computer setup and going with a red and black theme so I don't really want a blue or green backlight. I will swing by today and see what I like.

A confortable keyboard with a decent response, Quality, good ergonomic design and if poisible a decent life spam, a this moment i have found something like i was looking for,
Tt eSports Knucker thats my current Keyboard, it fills all my needs...!

PD: Back Lit, Macro and profiles arent principal goal on a keyboard for me, the confort and durabylity are more important, also ergonomics, then the feel of every key click... also i owned a couple of back lit keyboards, using lights at minimum... i did not say that i hate those features by the way ...

I picked up a Logitech g510s. It feels good so far but I kind of wish I would have gotten a mechanical board instead.. It has a lot of features but im not really going to use them all.

I recommend the K70. I love it! You should be able to get it for around $100 now, or at least pretty close to it. I'm a big fan of cherry MX red switches.

If you want some macro keys then go for the K95 which is the same thing just with macro keys.

I've had my K70 for probably over a year now. No problems at all.
