ok i have gotten a Mercury KNU400X-L mobo. and i want to get new memory for it. but am being completely confused as to what memory i can get. i keep looking at memory but none of them mention being compatible with the Nvidia Nforce2 chipset. why is this? they all say compatible with via, sis, nvidia 250gb. looking at getting 1 gb of mem for now but i don't want to purchase mem if it isn't gonna work in the mobo. the Mobo manual states

Supports up to 3.0GB of 200/266/333/400MHZ DDR SDRAM
Supports up to 3 DDR dimms
Supports 64/128/256/512Mb, 1Gb x8 & 16 DRAMS

does that last line mean i can't use high density ram? say 128x4? or can i?

lol sorry i am such a NOOB!

unless you're motherboard is extremely picky about RAM, you should only have to worry about slot and speed...so pick up some DDR400 from a good brand, and you should be fine. If not, RMA's are "fun" :p
