will give it a go, tnks
wow, new beta, still not listed officially as a beta when i search the simple nvidia site which lists 197.13
Sorry but as from now, I'll stay away from testing every other new driver that pops up. The 196.75 fiasco nearly killed my card, if it weren't for my good ears. Now I wonder if that isn't the reason my rig is acting strange, I'll never know.
all is fine so far been running 2 280's in sli without any problems, will run some benches when i get a chance.
no thanks i like my card
Funny thing, people were raving on and on about ATI's newest drivers and yet everyone is avoiding Nvidia's like a plague. I thought Nvidia has a better driver team?
NVidia's betas I don't think are usually as promising as ATI's betas, plus after the last couple of official driver releases for NVidia have been a bit spotty (one preventing overclocking, fix with the current 196 driver, and poor temp managment/fan control on the one after 196) I think people are being more careful.
They generally are, and they have better drivers too usually, however people around here like to harp on every little mistake anyone makes.
They've released one bad driver that had ban fan profiles that caused overheating, and it was quickly removed and fixed. None of the latest beta drivers have had the problem since, and I doubt they will in the future.
it made my 3dmark06 scores better by about 110 or so, and i always force the fans at 100% with evga precision. played bf2 all day yesterday with no issues, also played some grid and gta samp in the past few days, without any issues.
Um your link goes to OpenGL driver 3.3 and I can't find later than 197.13 still at nvidia.com so, needless to say, I'm a bit confused. Especially as d3fct apparently has them installed as well.
its at the very bottom of the page, look closely, green text (driver downloads)
Bizarre. Why hidden like that on the OpenGL driver page?
ill give it a go.. maybe itll solve metro 2033 giving me an old driver error in the beginning
hey shib nice to see a local on here, i'm only a 30 min drive or so from clifton park.
Nvidia is in a transition period with their drivers. I'm sure it's quite difficult to make drivers for a brand new card while keeping previous cards running well with the same drivers. Of course, people love complaining when things don't happen like they normally expect. Heck when I was using my GTX260 I didn't need new drivers as the ones I was using were pretty darn close to perfect. There was a time when you used whatever driver that worked best for you, now people expect to use a new driver every other week!
QFT, I'm using older quadro drivers and runs every game fine with the best image quality I have seen compared to all of the "official" WHQL drivers.
I actually didn't have any fan issues with 196.75, so I've kept using them.
If you use overclocking software to set manual fan speeds or use custom fan profiles, you wouldn't.
I too am actually still using the 196.75 drivers on my nVidia cards.
