sadly it does. But I hope the multiplayer will be as good as Quake 3 was. If they muck up the multiplayer, then Quake 4 won't be worth buying.

upcoming doom-3-engine-games are Quake 4, Prey, and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Quake 4 (single player) and Prey look like what everyone was expecting Doom 3 to be like. Quake Wars looks to be the best of the those, as it has vehicles, large outdoor levels, 5 player classes and its built for multiplayer.

There isn't a single player game that can keep my attention for more than a few levels anymore. I haven't finished a single player game in years. I don't know if it's my taste in games that has "matured" or if there are no original, fun games being made anymore.

I feel your pain man, that's why I'm trying Guild Wars now... A bit multiplayer without the LAN, even if I'm not the biggest RPG fan of all time. ;) And Quake4 is so not running anywhere NEAR playable on my rig before some SERIOUS upgrades. :( I've heard that a few Quake3 and Doom3 pro players got to test out Quake4 and they say it has excellent multiplayer. I hope they're right. A bit like Quake2 multiplayer I guess. Although I liked Quake3 multiplayer more... We'll just have to wait and see.

Yes, i agree. .looks like doom3. .but with slightly different characters. .

I also have a really shameful question  : what's the storyline to the quake games?

They all came out when i had no interest in PC gaming. .and when i didnt have my own pc. .or a good pc which cud run them :p

Yes you should be ashamed lol...j/k. Its a long story, but basically the humans fighting the alien race of the stroggos. And the humans attack the home world of the strogg to prevent them from attacking earth and I think 4 is just a continuation of 2. They kind of skiped it in 3 lol.

Even if it is a lot like Doom 3, I'm addicted to Doom 3 and I want to play something like it so I can't wait for this to come out.
