My friend is having an nightmare that Crysis wont work on his new computer that he wants to order. I personally think it should run pretty smooth.

Spec of what he wants to buy:
    Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
    Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 i965P s775 DDR2 SATA2 GLan
    Memory : Kingston 2048MB HyperX, CL4 900MHz DDR2, 240-pin DIMM x 2
    Graphics Card = e-GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB/320Bit DDR3, PCI-E

    Min Spec for Crysis:
    CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
    Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
    RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
    HDD: 6GB
    Internet: 256k+
    Optical Drive: DVD
    Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

btw his budget is 1200 euro so if you got the time to make any improvements or change the whole thing please do so. he needs everything except a keyboard, speakers, audio card, and mouse. and he'd like a nice 19" flatscreen.

His system actually will run it with aplomb. No worries. Honestly, I Wouldnt change anything at all..just make sure he has a stable PSU. Oh and one more thing, he will need Vista and DirectX 10, his card is a DX10 card, just need Vista now.

It will run no problems on that system (albeit in medium/high settings, not ultra-high settings)

CrySis is rumoured to be a total PC killer, but Im sure it will be very playable on the system your m8 wants ;)

From what I know, at the last E3 expo, they were running 2 8800GTX's with custom drivers for Crysis and from time to time it would still bog down. Hopefully Nvidia will have some better drivers when it comes out.

i would wait to see if nvidia dx10 drivers and the card itself perform on crysis well before buying it
