Apologies to everyone. I really didnt set up this poll very well. Better make your comments, and then I'll summarise in a few days time.

Polaris tried to help after I requested the change... but we seem to be "locked" out of the poll. Oh well.

My suggestion is to POST YOUR VIEW. I'll do a manual tally in a few days time.

    ie.

+1: YES - for I think a new section called SECURITY under the software heading is a great idea.

    OR

-1: NO - no new forum.

Sorry, I don't know why that is or else I would fix it. There is no reason for it not to work as far as I can tell. It let me vote just now.

    Just Re-vote.

I say no. Security issues can be addressed in general software. And anyone dealing with security on their router etc. will obviously go to networking to get help.

    Networking section is not necessary.

Notice how Wazzle has SWITCHED the options... so that "New Security Section" is SECOND on the LIST. Ooooh, naughty naughty... Politicians get into all sorts of trouble for rigging ballot papers like that ;-)

But anyway, it's still a whole lot better than the other *scr3w3d up* poll. Thanks for fixing it.

I support this idea, it will only further help us out in TPU when we have a specific issue and don't always know where to put it in these regards, since if people are often unsure of where to post something in general nonsense it will often get buried by the other threads. lol

i honestly think that security should be split between pc security (anti-virus, anti-spyware, user firewalls )and advanced security(network policies, firewall access method, industry spec firewalls, etc)

My noob self thinks we should have a New Security Section in the software section of the forums.. just under general software. I think stickies can help out in general on thoses topics Craig, but than again I did say I was a noob in this subject.. I know hardly anything on thoses subjects. :p
