new soundcard

im thinking of getting a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional Soundcard but i cant find in my bios how to disable my onbord sound. do i need to turn it off or can i just plug it into my mobo and it will work?

Onboard should be "disableable" <---laf and yes you can just plug it in and it will work but dont forget to select the correct audio devices in the sound settings for windows.

beleve me i cant find any thing about my sound in my bios but if i just plug the sound card in and go to my master volume properties will it appear in the drop down menu in mixer device?

x-fi really sucks. there are plenty of alternatives that dont suck though, like the x-mysique, x-plosion, prodigy 192 or the x-meridian. all of these alternatives are so vastly hardware feature superior its not funny. driver support is also much better than creative driver support. the prodigy 192 and the x-meridian especially absolutely beat the living daylights out of the x-fi
