    Going the almost full monty.

Quad core, as much RAM as possible, water cooling, either 4870X2 or 4870 under water, or even 4850 X 2 under water. Vista Ultimate X64/ Xp dual boot. 750Gb Perp drive for media and file storeage, and a 300Gb SAS drive for OS/gaming.

I see the new Q8200's in stock with free shipping, how far can they go with water and a board to support them. Or should I wait a few weeks for the rest of the new CPU's to come out? What about the new 7XX AMD chipset, are they actually pushing the 9950's to compete?

Suggestions on hardware? I have a shiny new preferred account at the egg and have my system pending sold.

    Yeah, multimedia.

I am going to rip all my movies and keep all my music and pics on the 750 and or RAID a few to gain extra storage. Then use the DVI port on my projector and fiber for audio. Plus file sharing to a couple other PC's in the house.

In that case a E8600 would probly be better. I would get a P5Q PRO for your motherboard. 4 GB of RAM (I would sugest eather ddr2 800 or ddr2 1000) because the gains past 1000 are minimal. If air cooling is not good enough then I would sugest a kit from www.pertastechshop.com. (which ever on eyou think fits your needs. If you can live with air the Xigamtek S1283 is amazing for the price. I would get a 4850 crossfire or a 4870 X2, that would be your choice, I see no reason for anything more then 2 4850's or a 4870. for the harddrives I would go with one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218. They are faster, cheaper, and quiter then a 750GB. For the second harddrive I would recomend a velociraptor. (This is the fastest harddrive for SATA2, but I DO NOT recomend it because you will probly not see enough of a diference to justify the price.

I think the velocaraptors are a rip, a SAS is insanely fast compared and not much more plus more reliable, Perp drives are fast with huge storage for the money and free shipping plus a five year warranty. I can get a 300GB for $400 and a cheap PCI-E card.

I dislike WD drives due to my experiance with failure rate.

Avoid the P5Q-Pro like the plague if you are going for a low multiplier chip and loads of memory. They have issues with high FSB's and they nearly all have memory issues. Go with an X38, or X48 board.

    How much better is a Q9550 than a 6600?

I think a Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe and a black box 9950 $179.99 with 4 gigs of RAM is the way I am going.

    Any Better suggestions?

I will get my X-Fire card and the rest after I sell my current rig.

Custom radiator, going to cut as much out of the side of the case as I can and use a copper tube in aluminum fin, cut it for two loops.

Pump to CPU to a few coils of the radiator to GPU to a few more coils of radiator to resovior.
