I agree. I'd also rather see "Like" turned back into "Thanks".

It reminds me too much of Facebook, and I think that internet fad is getting a bit long in the tooth.

I dont mind it, apart from the bubbles. It is a bit bright though imho, large light windows makes me want to put shades on, and thats not even full screened.

I much prefer our current colour scheme to the one on the test forum. It seems a bit... basic. The current colour scheme works well for our environment, it's easy to recognise things with a quick glance and overall seems more "professional" to my eyes.

I think a slightly lighter shade of green that your monkey is wearing Kreij is a nice color to mix into the site :)

I also wanted to point out a thread of mine I created about "system spec search function" that I posted a few weeks ago. Would be a cool feature to have along with the new site upgrade, just a thought, its here: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=186778

Yea, the internet is just a fad... j/k

I agree, FB "likes" are getting old, everyone is copying.

I wouldn't call it too plain. That works. Maybe it could be indented a little more. If however people want something there one thought is to use arrows like on the current forum. Ideally something that matches the theme though.

Why not some kind of bullet point icon so it's still easy to differentiate each sub section but not as in your face as chat bubbles.

Also the colours are very bright on my Korean 1440p monitor, something a bit darker would also help it easier to browse the different sub categories.

It's much better once you login to the new forum. When you are not logged in it's very hard to read, but once you login it's like night and day. :toast: I would like for the names of the person that created the thread to be darker. :toast:

With others on the to bright and the bubbles, i like to see a better post separation like the now TPU is with the date and blue line which breaks the post up..

I wonder if post separation could be done with slightly alternating background colors the way threads are separated.

As a whole I'm liking it.

Can there be some sort of recently updated thread section on the homepage? It's one of the design things i've always liked about the current forums.

Having a dedicated recent posts page just isn't anywhere near as useful

Generally I like it. The visuals is pleasant. I will miss the new post thing though. A dedicated side is not the same. Picture attached on what I mean.

There are a bunch of stuff I don't like though.

    The smileys are god awful.

The slight delay when you click things in the reply box is pretty much unacceptable to me. The delay is slight, but it's there and it will annoy me to no end.

The area with user info is way to big with avatars (second picture). The amount of white space is gigantic, even with two quotes!

"Thanks" is WAY WAY better than like. IMO.

And how the heck do I turn avatars off? Is it even possible? Because I don't want to see them.

EDIT: Will the thanks we have now be kept? It's not that important, but still.. EDIT again: Yeah I saw that. Will the "thanked" number be kept then?

I made a post and then clicked my system specs and it took me back to the main page. Also noticed it refers to posts as "messages."

id like to see a way of separating the post better within a topic, maybe with more color like there is now.

The Google search/map search feature when you click on a location is weird/creepy if the location isn't an actual place (i.e. where the wild things are vs New York, NY). It tries to map anything/everything that's written there :twitch:

The text and colors is a bit too hard on the eyes IMO.

The dark blue on dark blue is hard to read.

will it be possible to make few schemes and let users decide what colors they prefer.
beside default that will fit site colors one dark and one mid will be enough.

pictures added in posts are all full sized. resizing isnt working yet or there wont be resizing any more?

is it possible "replay" to be changed to "quote" and +1 for like to be changed to thanks

edit..After looking more it just seems thats the way the quote bars are. i dont like how huge they are even for the smallest quote.

Can the time it takes for the thread 'preview' to pop up be extended by a second or two? Its a little fast.
