I bought the card to enable my system to receive more than 1Gbps traffic. I'm happy to say it works flawlessly.

Essentially useless, unless you are lucky enough to have 10Gb internet service, or even 5Gb or even 2.5Gb that can utilize that suppeeeed.....

Or if you just wanna transfer files inside your home from one 10Gb-equipped device to another quickly....

Does anyone know if 10GbE can achieve lower latency, or if being an AIC vs onboard affects latency?

its 10x faster latency...but when you're already at sub-100 microseconds, who outside a corporate server admin is going to notice?

Hang on a minute...

I was talking about if there was a penalty of "lag" that came with the higher bandwidth of a 10GbE card.

Or if being an AIC instead of onboard had a latency penalty.

maybe add something about upgrading your internet speed and explaining that you got the card for it. The members posts are a little understandable as this thread gives absolutely no context.

Thats why others mentioned the "latest tech purchase thread" which is where most of these kinds of things end up when a conversation isn't expected.
