Since you and newtekie1 have the same experience with Amazon, I wonder if the non-Prime users have a lower priority to getting orders sent out. However, if your order is sent out in a timely manner, you have to place the blame on the carrier not Amazon.

Newegg will typically get some thing ready for pickup in 4 hours for me were as i could be waiting till next morning with Amazon.. Even if they both sent the item same time i believe newegg have some kind of deal which favors the seller as i have never had some thing early though UPS from Amazon 3rd party or not.. Now newegg i always get it a day early so getting 3 day i would actually get the item in 2.

And if one of the items is Super Eggsaver i get a item with UPS 3 day and they ship together :).

It is all timing. I practically stalk my tracking numbers. If it comes early, it's because it didn't have far to go or it hit the hubs are the right time.

About the pickup thing, I've never picked anything up from Newegg or Amazon (didn't know Amazon had such a thing). I always have it shipped.

I am bummed that so many people have issues with Amazon taking awhile to ship their orders. As long as I submit an order before 5:00cst my packages are shipped the same day without exception (50 orders from Amazon in 2013). I'd say i'm lucky but I know myself and luck doesn't come my way 50 times a year.

There has been a lot of discussion about Amazon Prime members getting expedited processing. There is a customer discussion over on Amazon about it, and basically everyone says Prime members get faster order processing. Probably why you've had such good luck.

You can keep on coming up with reason that you think it is in the end to me Newegg have served me 100% and beyond over 11 years without fail. And i still think Newegg have a better contract with UPS as they always get a day early than said.

I don't buy anything from NewEgg now that I have an Amazon Prime account. And since Amazon has so much more than NewEgg as far as household items, etc I don't see a purpose in ever buying from NewEgg again. Sorry NewEgg, it's business not personal.

well, newegg's web site is far better in it's reviews, and the info and product pictures...

I wish Newegg would just stick to PC parts. This trying t o be Amazon is just annoying. Amazon is boring. But Newegg definitely does not have the lowest prices. I always check Amazon before I buy. We need them both to keep prices down

Yes, Newegg gets the magical UPS trucks that travel twice as fast as the trucks that carry other packages. It if makes you feel better to think Newegg gets preferential treatment, who am I to ruin your dreams.

On your point, I just ordered a case from newegg. It was shipped UPS Ground and I got it the NEXT DAY. Must've been their special arrangement with UPS rather than the fact that it came from a warehouse 4 hours away.

Isn't that the point of being a Prime member? Just like purchasing the fast pass at one of those amusement parks...

Newegg doesn't get preferential treatment, they are just really good at estimating delivery times and have placed their warehouses very well. I believe the TN and NJ Newegg warehouses are within a few blocks of a major UPS hub. Every package I get from the TN and NJ warehouses is shipped UPS ground, and gets to me in 2 days. Anything from the CA warehouse has to be shipped 3-Day Select and it takes 3 days to get to me, according to the UPS time estimate map, ground would take 4 days to get to me from CA. The placement of warehouses next to UPS hubs helps greatly with transit times as well, which is why Newegg is looking to open another warehouse in Indy(which means I'll have to start paying sales tax:().

Amazon's normal shipping uses USPS, which is just slow, no getting around it. Prime members get free upgrades to 2-Day UPS/Priority shipping though.

Isn't that the point of being a Prime member? Just like purchasing the fast pass at one of those amusement parks...

No, Prime is only supposed to provide free 2-Day shipping, it doesn't say anything about expedited order processing.

And USPS is just a pain in the ass.
Newegg ships UPS 3-Day Select as their standard shipping option, Amazon uses USPS. USPS takes forever to get me stuff.
Yeah, USPS is awful. Ordered a new case from newegg and chose the Super EggSaver. They sent it UPS Ground. Guess I got lucky.

The issues that you are having is that you only get what you pay for.

For a given amount of money, UPS, FedEx, and USPS will get the package delivered in about the same amount of time. The difference is that USPS offers cheap 7-10 day service while UPS and FedEx do not. Therefore, all slow packages get sent through USPS, and people assume that is the only service that USPS offers. Pay the money to send a package using USPS Priority Mail (about the same cost as UPS or FedEx ground) and it will arrive at the same time as the UPS or FedEx package would.

Blame the retailers for making their default option the 7-10 day service. It's not USPS's fault that the retailers don't want to subsidize 3-day shipping anymore.

Looking over the list....everything on there used to be free? I remember when they switched to charging 2.99 for expedited shipping, yet my packages came just as fast as when I did or didn't use it. The rest of these services I expect as a customer or I'd take my business elsewhere. I've been shopping primarily at Amazon(no prime account) for the last two years, it's been much cheaper and never any shipping costs. I'm glad Amazon has become more competitive in pricing.

No new eggsays 3 days but always get it in 2 these passed 3 years now. Sure some warehouses will be closer but not all lol.

And i believe costumer loyalty too so again 11 years newegg never failed so. Even when a item went cheaper days after buying from them they refunded the difference.

Guess by the end of the third day to you means, "Will be delivered in 3 days exactly, unless Newegg sends it." If you want to continue this discussion then at least provide some FACTS to back up your claims.

Now the Newegg price match after buying something I can get down with. That is good service.

I used Amazon without Prime for a while. Holy hell their handling times sucked. They tried to use USPS for small stuff as much as possible. But mainly it took them about a week to get things out the door.

Now that I have Prime stuff gets here much faster. Usually UPS estimates a day later on their site but then somehow delivery gets earlier. Dunno. And they use UPS as much as possible instead of USPS, even for small stuff.

Short version:
-normal Amazon: week long handling times, three day shipping, USPS prioritized
-Amazon Prime: same day handling times, two day shipping, UPS prioritized

I have a three day UPS Select coming this week. I'll post the tracking when it gets here. Its says it will be delivered on 2/25 I ordered it on 2/19 and I have a Premiere account. So it goes to show it all depends on where the warehouse is and the weather

I beg to differ. Newegg's "eggsaver" is the free service, which is UPS "Mail Innovations" or FedEx "Smartpost". Either one is 7-10 days. There's no Newegg products sold within the past year that offer free 3-day shpping. You need to pay extra or be a "premier" member to get 3-day shipping. In terms of shipping, there's no advantage to Newegg over Amazon anymore.

I beg to differ. Newegg's "eggsaver" is the default free service, which is UPS "Mail Innovations" or FedEx "Smartpost". Either one is 7-10 days. You need to pay a bit extra or be a "premier" member to get 3-day shipping. There's no advantage to Newegg anymore.
I was talking handling times, Newegg gives good handling times for free, you have to pay for Prime to get anywhere near decent handling times with Amazon. And a lot of stuff ships free via UPS, and even the egg saver stuff uses UPS some times(on anything big like cases it is always UPS). Newegg gives you partially what you have to pay extra for with Amazon, and if you are comparing Prime to Newegg, then Newegg's Premiere service kicks Amazon's ass because the basic service is already better.

Be logical now. Compare free services to free services and paid services to paid services.

Newegg Basic > Amazon Basic ( Can't say I remember what Amazon was like before Prime, but I'll take everyone's word for it.)

Amazon Prime > Newegg Premier ( I might change this if they offered more for the $50. Prime is a little more expensive but you get Prime Instant Video and 2-day shipping on anything from Toilet Paper to Motor Oil. It's just a better value for the price they charge. )

Amazon does all kinds of bullshit. I ordered a 770 3 days ago, they claim with my "5-8 business day free shipping" that it will arrive end of March beginning of April. I don't have prime and I am not gonna pay for it. The fast shipping should be standard. It used to be. Item still hasn't even been shipped. They probably want me to blink and either get prime or upgrade the shipping to $10.

Are you sure it's not backordered? Also, is it from Amazon or one of their associated vendors?

Amazon Prime is better only because of the streaming, if you don't need the streaming(like me, I already have 2 other streaming services. plus Amazon's selection was rather poor compared to those other two) then it isn't better it is a worse deal. Plus Newegg Premier gives you no restocking fee and free return shipping, which to me is far more useful than streaming service.

Yes its Amazon and its in stock. $329.99 for the overclock model. I deliberately selected Amazon as the vendor, not any Amazon sellers like 'Circuit-City'. This isn't the first time I've gotten this too. They will probably sit on it a few more days before sending it out. I live in the continental USA too.

I don't see any worth to this personally. $50 annually for early notifications>?

Newegg provides great customer support but their shipping has taken a nosedive for the past 4+ years. I would routinely get stuff shipped fast [two days or less] via FedEx from their California warehouse to NJ. But since their shipping relationship move to UPS/USPS, I get stuff from Cali or NJ to NJ in 3+ days.
