It's a boot drive and a pretty large improvement over a platter drive. Thanks for the uneducated thread crap. :)

Have fun with that "massive" 320GB Seagate. ROFL I'm sure that she flies.

How do you figure? Have you seen the write speeds on that drive? I wouldn't pay what $125 upfront (before rebate) for that drive. Kingston's own 64GB drive was a better deal.

What? He's right. 30GB in no way qualifies as "massive storage". Storage size hasn't a damn thing to do with speed. 30GB would only be massive if you were talking about ram.

EDIT: That said, I still want 2 of these. lol.

Actually i bought the 640GB Western Digital tyvm and im sorry but spending 100 just to have a boot-drive is retarded, i mean you'll eat that space up so fast with windows 7 and programs...

So, that makes an 80GB Intel for more than twice the price "massive storage"? Neither one could even handle my Steam folder alone. It's a boot drive not a storage drive. My system was faster for the most part when I split my raid array apart and kept apps on two drives in raid and the os on another two in raid.

My OS partition is 18.5GB right now and is pretty old. I have never gone out of my way to cut that down either. Is your 640GB drive even partitioned? I bet that it's not. Have you used an SSD? Have you ever even split your os and apps onto two separate drives? Based on what knowledge are you speaking of? Could you elaborate or are you just trolling?

What does any of that have to do with the fact that 30GB is not "massive storage"?

Read the description for the item in Newegg. The manufacturer themselves claim "30GB of massive storage". I'm sorry, 30GB does not qualify as "massive storage", regardless of how you want to use the drive in a modern setting.

I didn't know that this thread was about "massive storage" to begin with. So, what is you point? I have a 1TB drive for "massive storage".

You jumped on him for pointing out their PR. Their PR claims 30GB is massive storage, he found it amusing, as I'm sure many others do, as 30GB does not count as massive, and you decided to accost him, and call him out for thread crapping. Except, he has a very valid point. 30GB is not massive. In fact, it's the opposite of massive. 30GB is a small amount of storage. Nobody ever said that only positive attributes of a product have to be pointed out in deal threads.

I didn't see that, in that case I apologize because that is pretty funny.

30Gig ssd $100 still not worth the price in my opinion.
Wait it out a while and they will come down and perform better.

You can argue that about anything. If you wait there is always something cheaper, that performs better around the corner. Are 2 GTX295s worth the price?

I'm waiting till the performance SSDs come down to around $1.50/GB for 64GB models, personally. Although, the temptation has been getting harder to resist. lol.

I posted this for two reasons: the drive is cheap and fast. I have three Summit drives in raid 0 that reach speeds of 660MB/s (220MB/s each), and I currently have only about 40GB filled on the array. These drives are even faster, and three or four of these in a raid 0 array would be smokin' fast!

Back in May I scored one for $100 AR. Resold it recently for $100. No complaints here (and none from the guy who bought it) :)
