Next Gen Consoles now Old Gen

Hi first thread and post on tech power up and I was wondering does anyone else notice that the "Next Gen" games for the xbox360 are already outdated because of shader model 4.0/.1. Even the PS3 can't handle this because it is of the G70 architecture or something similar. Crysis and other games such as CoD4 and Company of Heroes look 10 times better on a pc that can handle it. Anyone else agree?

I have played Oblivion and CoD4 on PS3. I was amazed at how much better they look on PC and only at 1440x900! My bro has cod4 so I will go see if he wants to stop being a douche and let me see if it looks any better.

Haha lol I have oblivion for the PC and loved it I love CoD4 as well I love the xbox for its controller for flying etc but the graphics for Halo 3 etc are rendered at 720p then scaled up by the xbox which is quite disappointing.

ya the pc will always be a nextgen console in my opinion because you can always upgrade it it will always preform better and what makes it a true next gen console is the fact that there are limitless possibilities to mod your games and oc your system, and you cant do anything like that with the 360 and ps3 the wii is just a novelty

Lol the wii is fun playability wise its differant from its predacessors wheras the xbox and ps3 are just better versions of the last console. Also i like upgrading my pc its more fun it looks cooler and each pc is individual unlike the consoles.

Yeah great diagram. I wish I could compare screenshots on the consoles and those on pc. Also the 9 series will be here soon which will be a nice performance boost to dx10 games *COUGH*Crysis*COUGH*
