Two detestable phrases. But which, IYO, is worse?
I don't mind either of those phrases that much, but next-gen is just overused and nerdy in my opinion.
Awesome?, is simply that, Awesome!!!
Awesome is awesome. Next-gen is anti-awesome. I'm tired of hearing it.
I voted awesome, coz its to much of a lame ass word!
I think you should add pwn and ytw and all them stupid words that dont even make any sense, atleast next-gen means something
I think that saying R600 was awesome-gen would really get on my nerves! :shadedshu
Nah.. add the "Powerful Intergrated Graphics" quote...
I say both. Next-gen is worse though, because every gen is next-gen, even last-gen ugh stupid gens. And well awesome....not sure it strikes so much awe.
We should use cool and wicked....haha
worse about putters
hp commercial: (something like this since i don't remenber it quite well)
"it also has this top of the line 7300le that can play every game fast, and play movies at their full quality"
it was a desktop that had a pentium d, 1gb ddr, crappy mobo, "stupendous" gfx car above, and a 19' monitor for about 1,5k €
That is so next-gen it's awesome.
naa, worse is anything quoted from y_eye
It's too bad those two words even existed
Just searching this forum, it seems that next-gen is used too often... http://forums.techpowerup.com/search.php?searchid=504994
... but what is truely shocking is how often awesome is overused http://forums.techpowerup.com/search.php?searchid=504980
Awesome is obviously the next-gen hyperbole of choice by certain sorts of vocabulary-challenged people that like to overemphasise.
awesome sux ass, i hate it reminds me of dum blonde cheerleaders "like tottally awesome, omg!!"
Next gen, because people have been calling the Xbox 360 next gen for years - how can something that is here now be next-gen?
I think Americans misuse "awesome" just like British misuse "wicked". I agree, aweful. Much worse than "next-gen", which is a misnomer. Whereas use of awesome reflects lack of ability to use adjectives and comparatives.
I predict the next dreadful word to enter the internet channels as: verb, to awesome.
e.g. Those guys were awesomed by what they saw, or, The PC was awesomated with upgrades. And in chat channels, not PWND but AWSMD.
I have to say awesome is the worst of the 2. I hate it when people say it.
This poll is out of date: it should include two new horrible entries. One short, the other long:
2./ "XYZ announces a long-term strategic relationship to provide their mutual customers with an innovative next-gen product enablement program"
You ask about #2? Seriously, you couldnt make this stuff up! http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=105379
