Hey Guys..
I have an issue with my fileserver's onboard NIC. It's flooding my network (sending out an immense amount of packets for no reason which destroys my switch).
Its just an old motherboard that I ripped out of a old Acer P4 machine from work, (normally when this happens at work we replace the rig, prob why they were chucking it out.. )
Anyway, My question is. Is there a way to fix network flooding and if not do you recommend I spend 20 bucks on a new gigabit NIC or waste 220ish for a new mobo/cpu/ram?
If I do get a new motherboard, can someone recommend me something that has five sata ports, is low powered, cheap and is silent.... passively cooled would be good. Looking at e350 fusion mobos atm.
Cheers
