    Nvidia GeForce 301.42 WHQL

    Its out
    http://www.geforce.com/

This is the first WHQL-certified unified driver from the R300 family of drivers (versions 300.00 to 301.99).

GeForce R300 drivers are packed with new industry-leading, GeForce-exclusive features as well as some really nice performance increases in top games.

    New in R300 Drivers:

    New GPU Support:
    GeForce GTX 690
    GeForce GTX 680
    GeForce GTX 670
    GeForce GT 600-series GPUs

Performance Boost – Increases performance for GeForce 400 Series and 500 Series GPUs in several PC games vs. GeForce 296.10 WHQL-certified drivers. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration.

I'm trying them out. Nothing like WHQL even though they won't do much for me. I noticed a few SLI profiles added in.

Just the HD Audio driver version apparently (1.3.16.0 in 301.42 WHQL vs 1.3.12.0 in 301.24 BETA).

New 3D Vision profiles and also DisplayPort 1.2 support for all GTX 600 series.
    JrRacinFan says thanks.

Didn't notice any of the "Performance Boost" @ Single, SLI or 3Way

    Games tested:

    BF BadCompany2
    Metro 2033
    Company of Heroes
    COD Black Ops
    NFS Shift 2

And they're ok for my 570 GTX, much better then leaked 301.40 or early 301.24.

So do people generally uninstall old or just install new drivers on top?

yep. uninstall old via control panel and then I ussually restart in save mode and run driver sweeper to clean it out even more. then reset in normal mod and install new drivers.

It doesn't even ask you to restart most times, but I do anyways.

Anyone notice that the cards now throttle in just about every stability test app? I used to use OCCT with check for errors enabled to test overclocks and then would just game to test at what got me no errors in OCCT. However, now OCCT/furmark/kombuster/heaven all throttle.

Had to roll back mine. Driver was not stable with TOR. Performance would go from smooth to 1-5fps. Usually when alt-tabbing to desktop. Wouldn't recover after. Back to 296 and its all good again.

I think the FXAA worked but the Adaptive VSYNC didn't seem that super. Still saw some clipping. Just not as bad as no VSYNC.
