My ASUS GTX 680 is inbound. Will be here next week. :D

All I can say is I <3 Shoprunner!

Also, there is a code that I found online that if you purchase a 680 on Newegg, you get free shipping. Expires April 1, 2012. Let me know if the code works or not for those who try to use it.

    Code is: EMCNGHJ22

Edit: If and when the 680's stop being harder to find than dinosaur bones, I will post my various benchmarks here possibly with the GTX 285 in comparison. Havent decided if thats worthwhile yet or not.

Will also try diving into overclocking them as well.

That's nice for you and all but what really is the point of this thread? Post in Hot Deals maybe (tho free shipping isn't very "hot" generally). Other than that c'mon...

Maybe the excitement of getting the card and wanting to share it with the community? Maybe because of the fact that I would have used this thread to post overclocking info and other benchmarks? Maybe because id be one of the few on the forum that actually would have had the card?

    Other than that c'mon...

You should put that info in the first post :) Afterall there are a ton of GTX 680 threads already. ;)

I figured people could have extrapolated that information just by me making the post, but I guess not. /facepalm

Yeah I wasn't trying to be a jerk it was just really unnecessary to make another when there are plenty of other threads into which you could have inserted these relevant comments.

Well before newegg cancelled my order, the comments had no place in the other threads.

I don't think I agree. Anyway, no huge deal either way. Just a matter of forum etiquette. When there are so many threads on the same general topic it's harder to find all the info people have to share, for starters...

OMG dude just wait it will be like a whole different game. And I say that coming from two 6850s which afforded me High and 2x MSAA (1200P) to this 480 which will smoothly run Ultra (except shadows) and 4x MSAA. In addition to the more pronounced lack of jaggies especially at a distance with 4x it just overall looks better going from high to ultra and I could not be more pleased with this card for $200. Techincally the 6850s are 2-5% percent faster but not only does MSAA in BF3 kill AMD cards for whatever damn reason the extra half gig vram is proving to be making a huge diff too as I figured it probably would. Average 1400MB used.

I am sorry but I truly fail to see what is so exciting about this card. Yes its cheaper but 28nm yields are better. It's 4 months newer of course its going to be faster

This makes two of us. Ppl are shouting everywhere how GTX 680 pwns HD7970. But i just fails to see that. Sure its faster by few fps in some games, but in others, they are basically neck to neck. Considering it came 4 months later, i can hardly be surprised. But in the end, thy both hardly justify the 600 bucks pricetag. For what, 20-30% better performance than old series? C'mon? Percentage sounds huge but when you convert that in framerate, there is hardly any proper difference. 50% boost or gtfo with such prices. These high end cards should cost no more than 350 EUR (460 bucks) with included tax imo with 7950 and GTX 670 below 300 EUR mark...

    purecain and INSTG8R say thanks.

i still think that it's too hard priced around 500euro not that i am not willing to pay for it, i just don't wanna spend that much on a gpu like that.

i am more thinking about grapping a GTX 580 3gb and call it a day since i use Cuda and PhysX when ever i can, and i am honestly not a AMD Graphic person tried them a few times, but keeps coming back to Nvidia.

The people that are freaking out are just silly fanboys (rape? really?) though I'd say many people (like me) are extra impressed because not only is it faster but, like for the first time for NV, it's also quite efficient. I also don't think this "680" we have as of now is their true top dog.

Great card....so gonna get 1. Just like in racing a win by .02 seconds is still a win so 3 fps is still a win and this price while still somewhat high * efficiency makes this a win for everyone nvidia fan or not. Puts the 7970 in a better perspective.
