nVidia HD Audio

I'm expecting my new Sony Bravia EX400 32" HDTV to arrive sometime today and was wondering, if I hook it up to my video card via HDMI-to-DVI adapter, will I get audio from the Bravia's speakers? I'm asking this question because I have a dedicated sound card already that I have my speakers hooked up to and I'm not sure if they'll interfere with the nVidia HD audio.

That Tv must have more than one HDMI port, so why not just hook it up that way?

It's really not a big deal if I won't be able to get audio from the TV's speakers, because I know I'll have audio through my regular speakers.

Just wanted to update this thread, by hooking up my Sony Bravia HDTV to my PC via HDMI cable with HDMI-to-DVI adapter, I can get audio from the 2 speakers on the TV. But if I choose to have my audio through my TV speakers then I have no audio through my 5.1 speakers that are connected to my X-Fi sound card. So, what I had to do was disable the TV speakers in the Windows Sound panel and re-enable my 5.1 speakers. I guess you can get audio through an HDMI-to-DVI solution.

Yes, you can get audio through a DVI -> HDMI adapter, or a DVI -> HDMI cable. Anyone that says otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about. They just assume that DVI doesn't support audio so it isn't possible, but the video card manufacturers have been using the extra unused pins on the DVI connector to do it since the HD2900/8800 series cards.

However, you can not get audio output from more than one sound device at a time. So you can either use the video cards audio output or you sound cards, but not both. This is actually a limitation in Windows, not a limitation of the Graphics/Sound card, and there is no way around it.
