That's because the Titan is most likely being discontinued. It seems most people are of the opinion that the 780ti will be more powerful than the Titan and if it comes with 6GB of memory on it at $700 will make the Titan even more out of place than it currently is.

As it stands the 780 overclocked cards already equal or beat the Titan in everything but compute. With those dropping to $500-$550 it would be extremely silly to consider a Titan at double the cost. Even when you consider compute I imagine two 780s overclocked are probably more powerful...

when AMD had better hardware than Intel, they were charging $1000+ for their top of the line CPUs. the AMD FX 62 was $1200 when it came out. i know that because i had one. AMD isn't putting up lower prices because they are nice people. they are doing it because they have to. they are ALL greedy.

Is this a joke ? AMD wanted almost $600 for the 7970 and $450 for the 7950 when they came out.

NVidia released the 670/680 which where not only faster but $50-75 CHEAPER and then AMD dropped the prices of both by $100

I don't understand your point ? This is EXACTLY what AMD did last video card series......

Nvidia and AMD operate on pure capitalistic principles. Meaning they don't view right and wrong, they are indifferent to it. The only right and wrong large corporations see is the portion that could effect public image and the effectiveness of their marketing(only the bottom line).

I agree with you, that is capitalism and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If I am a shareholder in a company I expect profitable results, no profit, no invest. I want the company to do their best to make a lot of money.
If people consider that greed, oh well.
The way I figure it, if you want to play with the big guys, play. If not, go sit on the couch and watch.
Me... I'm on the couch watching, for now. I'm still all bruised up from buying (2) 670's a while back, I need more healing time.
I am however, grateful for nvidia, as those 670's were a great buy at the time and still kick ass all over the place. I am betting they will still kick ass 2-3 years from now, in my situation (single 24" monitors).

But still AMD priced way lower still forced nvidia this time at least and the only way to say thank you is to buy from those who are getting prices lower not those who rip you off till they are forced to lower.... You know for a fact nvidia be butt rapped massive time if they did not lower the prices because of AMD.

If they price things too high then they will sell less product because of the alternatives becoming more favorable. It isn't about morality as far as pricing of a luxury item is concerned. It isn't needed for survival. I won't starve or get sick from high prices of luxury items. :laugh:
