Jhen-sun Huang started off saying "we released a $1000 GPU, unknowing how well it would sell...and it sold like hotcakes."

    So here's our next card...

    Triple-slot.

Two Titan Blacks made sweet love and spawned this monster.

wtf really doesn't do this justice.

So it's equivalent to 2 Titan Blacks (at £800/$1000 each), making it monstrously expensive.

    What is the point?

Yeah, it's dual chip Titan Black, aka, entry level compute card. Having checked the keynote it's meant for physics simulations and compute people. Not aimed at gamers - it wouldn't show it's true potential in that arena.

I'm watching the keynote and its a supercomputer for super cheap.

But I'm sure some gamers will pony up for bragging rights.

I guess you missed the UNREAL Engine 4 Demo....and Jen Hsun's "Unreal Engine4 is why we made Titan-Z!".

Please note that some sarcasm is included in my post. ;)

Oh, it's true, made sure to have pic with Jen Hsun so if it turns out to be something else, there will be this to reference.

As to the "high" price, locally, Titan Black is $1150. Multiply that by two, add in that GPUs must be screened extremely tight, added cost to the bill of materials, etc....

    $2999 seems...well...fair?

I feel odd saying that, honestly... but I mean...who really needs more than just a normal GTX780? Extravagance SHOULD have a cost.

No doubt, the Titan cards kinda fill the gap between the consumer orientated GeForce cards and their much more expensive Tesla range. Compared to a Tesla K20X it's good value.

No doubt a GTX 790 will be much cheaper, but still expensive.

so a double Titan for 3 time the price of a normal Titan? geniuses streak (not talking about the Titan black price which is already a rape.) i wonder if its dual Titan or Titan black chip, or even funnier : undeclocked Titan chip to fit in a defined TDP
oh well dual titan black after re read ... but now : underclocked Titan black chip to fit in a def... ah whatever ... it cost 3 time one TB for a dual TB so thats the point ...

    alright extravagance has a cost

Considering the success of the original TITAN, you can't blame NVIDIA for taking things in this direction. You just can't.

I have dual 780Ti, and 780, and had a TITAN and TITAN BLACK to play with last week. I can't help but thinking NVIDIA is simply doing the right thing.

THAT SAID....BTA has a news thread up now...

Hmm ... wait, wait ... for that money you can get quad 780 Ti ... and have $209 change for a new quad sli mobo. This may be the first card that can run games that no gamer will buy.
