oh Sh!t guys, someone wrote an article that says if we stick a bunch of GPUs in a small space things will get hot

Well not exactly, because that's obvious. The point of the article was
Fermi-based cards will run hotter than the hottest ATI Radeon HD 5000 series.

Now how accurate such info is, I don't know. I found it off Tom's Hardware.

I hate it when people sarcastically state the obvious before I do

Lol, so I'll state the obvious again against Binge's obvious................

"oh Sh!t guys, someone wrote an article that says if we stick a bunch of GPUs in a small space things will get hot".......................

And a bunch of guys from a tech forum managed to make a thread out of it!

I propose we march on web-journalists. This obvious injustice must end!

I'll pin w1zzard stickers to their multi-gpu burned arses.

nvidia told everyone who was invited to their briefings that the heatsink is not final, nor are the fan settings, so whatever people are telling based on those cards is bs.

what you could listen to is that thermaltake and coolermaster have been working on special cases for fermi sli

It be cool to see a case with PCI-E Riser ribbons and extra long crossfire bridges, off course some custom places to put the cards after as well.

But I always grimace when I see 4 gpus plugged into the motherboard, the air intake must be very minimal.

That does not bode well for efficiency..
The obvious aside, does that mean that nVidia hasn't worked out a satisfactory cooling solution to match their brand-new-bow-down-before-me GPUs?

SLI-cases! One for the GPUs and one for everything else. With extra long riser cards so you can heat up two seperate rooms in winter. nVidia is SO fond of the environment.

So...when you have one or two, it is find, but when you drop 3 in there, packed extremely close together, they have cooling issues.

And how is that different than any other cards that have been released?
