Did u try your friends gpu in your system to eliminate that your motherboards at fault? Anyways somebody said get a used 775. F that. Never get used. I see new ones all the time on ebay and relatively cheap too. Look for x38 or p45. I got a new asrock p45 mobo for my q9550 system for $70.

Anyways if it is your video card then a (AMD) 6850, 6870, new 7750, 7770 or new or used 6950 1/2gb should do the job. Nvidia would be gtx550 or gtx560. Always nice if u can stretch the budget a little more but its really not 4 your gain is it? Yes i would wait for the new nvidia cards which should shake the market a bit. Good luck.

    P.S. My 780i went ages ago! :)

Unfortunately, I won't be able to try my friends GPU in my system till Spring break (last week of March). Both of us have busy class schedules and it would be very inconsiderate of me to have him pull his card out and come to my place etc.

Won't be till a couple days later I can test out another GPU in my system. In the meantime, is there any way to determine my 780i is in working condition without a gpu?
