Just picked up an Opty 185 at Newegg for my 939 micro MB (DFI RS482). I intend in keeping air cooling, 2 or 3 GB Corsair XMS DDR (I have yet to determine which config OCs better).

Any hints on OCing this CPU?:)

From my experience with Opterons, they are a breeze to OC. Not sure about your MB, as it's DFI, I assume it should have myriad of OC options. Stock cooling made by AVC cooler is good. The supplied cooler is perhaps one of the best ones available, even outperforming much of the aftermarket variety.

hmm...read the DFI NF4 overclocking guide at diy street (i know u have an ATI chipset but the same generalities apply).

Make sure u have latest BIOS from DFI, search for an Oskar Wu too, although i think he mostly concentrates on the LanParty series.

2 dimms usually will OC better than 3. Re-apply a decent thermal paste to the northbridge and make sure its adequately cooled.

no lower than a 150 divider will work with opteron chips. As your multiplier is 11 though (at a guess?) this shouldnt be a problem, as its unlikely the chip will go much more than 3GHz (3GHz and u r doing very well).
