In an overzealous attempt to build a sweet, budget-y, all AM3 rig for a client, I overlooked (or rather it wasn't listed) the voltage recommendations for my mobo. Thusly, these two sticks ran for about 48 hours total over 4-5 days, and are just as shiny as the day I got them. Eventually my client called me and asked me if it was supposed to crash all the time, every couple of hours. She thought it was just "being Windows". I tossed in a 1GB stick of 1066, and things ran fine. Figuring out the voltage wasn't too difficult especially since an "AMD Edition" of the same exact memory went on sale recently... :ohwell:

Issue being, I had already tossed out the box for them and cannot be buggered to return them when I have the excellent traders here at TPU. I'll send em in a Crucial clamshell that I had lying around, taped shut, and stuff into a safety envelope with all the bubble padding. Essentially, how they were shipped to me via NewEgg.

These suckers still list for 76$ before shipping, but I want em off my hands and into a rig that can use em.

PRICE DROP ---- SOLD to Daedelus Helios! Shipping Saturday morning-ish, should arrive by Tuesday I'd imagine.
Take em for 45$ shipped and I'll be happy. ConUS of course, but if anyone else wants to have em shipped I'll toss em across the pond for 40$ + shipping. Figure it out ;)

    Gratuitous pics!

    Hiya Mark! :toast:

Twas a MSI 790GX-G65 AM3 board. Works just fine with 1066, and the client asked for more since stability was more important than speed. I grabbed a 1GB stick of Crucial, and it works flawlessly, so I ordered another 4GB of the same stuff for her.

Added Heatware info. Randomly reading through posting guides is a good idea. ;)

this is interesting as my X58 mobo wouldnt post with 1.65V memory (I had to get a set of 1.5V to get it to post) I wonder what would have happened if I tried 1.9 stuff?

and Im sure everyone already knows but Silverel is an excellent seller/buyer.:toast:

I am pretty sure I want them.... would they work in a motherboard that says 1066-1333 DDR3?

I would think they would because most ram has three presets. And that 2 other than the rated speed are always lower settings for compatibility.

I think the only problems I had with them was my motherboard didn't like the 1.9v on em. If you can handle it, they should be fine.

There's a 1.8v set of OCZ 1333 on the approved memory list. I think if you undervolt/clock these a bit they would work. The 1333 stuff OC's up to 1500~ and 2.1v from some sources.

Can't imagine there'd be problems as long as you tweak em a bit. :)

As long as it boots I can make it work. I believe I will be buying it from you in the next 4 hours if you can wait. ;)

It will be about 2 hours before I can do it because thats when I am off work. Thanks.
