I get this error in Office 2013 every time I open an Office 2013 document. Anyone got any ideas? I followed the error message and it still pops up every time?

I attached the error tag in this message.

Thanks

Does it do it with every document or just that one document?

Some had the same issue. Try one of those advises:

Based on my research, this error might occur when Excel (or Word) can not locate system's Temporary folder and can be fixed by doing the following:
  • Open Start > Run > regedit
  • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders and modify the key Cache with a valid path (ie: C:\Windows\Temp ).
BTW, if you are opening these documents from intranet or trusted sites, also check the Internet Options > Security, uncheck the Enable Protected Mode option under Local intranet and Trusted sites if they are checked.

On post # 2 It only happens on an email attachments with Office Documents, I do not get these errors on documents that I type or create.

Thanks

I also went to "trusted sites" in options and click on all the boxes and it still does it?
Anyone got any more options?
Thanks

Have you tried repairing the Office 2013 installation through "Programs and Features" in the control panel?

I'm glad it worked. That's usually the first thing I try if I can't find a quick answer to an MS Office issue.

That's great it worked. Sometimes a repair install doesn't work though (covering all software here, not just Office) and it must be removed and reinstalled and even then it doesn't always work...
