Strangely enough, around these here parts (Norway) the 9600GSO is actually more expensive than the 8800GS right now. :S

I haven't seen any for sale. It looks like nVidia's plan to rebadge the 8800GS to get companies to sell the cards isn't working out so well. It seems the 8800GS just isn't a popular enough card, which is a shame since they are bad ass cards.

It looks like our GSO cards got hung in customs. Next shipment should be here in a matter of days.

Yes, we have both flavors of GSO 384 and 768.

And I agree about paper launches- for suck. We haven't really announced anything because we don't have product available to purchase.

Just as a quick message to anyone in the uk, it looks like Novatech have a small amount of 768mb 9600GSO's under their own novatech branding (which I assume is similar to the palit card?!).

The only problem is they are over £90. This is too much considering you can get a 8800GT for only £10 more if you look around.

That is the same base price as the identical card branded as the 8800GS but with a single slot cooler. But the 8800GS has a $30 MIR and the 9600GSO only has a $10. I don't like the 9600GSO being more expensive.

The more I think about it, the more I believe that a 768MB version won't really be that great. The extra memory will push the price beyond that of a 9600GT, and the 9600GT would outperform it.

Wouldn't the narrower memory bus probably make it slower when using AA?
