can't wait for the reviews to see the crossfire scaling, Nvidia has kept that sweet for some time now, would be good to see ATi improve and compete better in dual card scenario's.
    CDdude55 says thanks.

I dont think anybody expected a trumped up x7xx card to do as well as this. 6850 playing off the 5850 and the 6870 humping it in real world performance. And the 6870 playing footsie with the 470. They're humping the 460's too.

Gosh. And cooler and quieter than last gen.

And from Guru 3D who is not AMD biased. Gosh.

Very very interested in Cayman's performance now.....

    Definitely..:rockout:

And once the drivers mature im sure we will be seeing even better performance out of these cards, so i can only imagine the 6900's performance.

HD 6870 CF increases from 46 single card to 89 CF. Golly goodness.

Thats about 95% scaling. Jeeping shit.

It all seems to good to be true (from mid range cards).

    Wheres the catch?

NO catch...like I've been saying for a while..everything I complained about with the 5-series is everything that has been addressed with these cards.

The sad news is that all those problems will continue to exist for 5-series owners, as clearly the hardware change was required to fix those specific issues.

The last thing is the cursor corruption...if there really are cards for sale tomorrow, I'll go buy one and let you'all know how it goies.

pictures from OCUK don't count, ECH :p

Typically I have to wait for cards to coem local..there's no such thing as hard launches here...and when there is, Bioware snaps almost every single one up. :banghead:

    Ah, you'll love this.

    OCUK - 6870 = £200

    OCUK - 5850 = £215

Duh... which card should you buy?

Ok, who still wants to argue that the name scheme is confusing with:
    -lower pricing
    -lower power consumption
-better performance in single and dual card configurations
-MLAA will be released in Cat 10.12
    -better AF
    -etc
    ???
    heky says thanks.

well...it seems the 5 series needed more geometry performance. 6870 in XFire is very good, and im looking forward to the 69xx cards.
Im starting to get that GPU itch. I might have to sell my 5870 and get a 6970 if the performance is there.
