OK seems like WOW why did you buy all this and dont know how to build it. Well I can put all the pieces together, I just dont know how to get all the software to go into the system, (bios/xp pro 64bit/ etc... also do I have to adjust anything or will it all be plug and play? Little help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Start with installing the XP Pro. Put the disk in and fire it up. Next drivers, then everything else is a breeze after that.

well as a tip I move the CMOS jumper and remove the battery durring instalation of the parts. That way when you get ready to boot, you replace the battery and move the jumper back, CMOS is reset and ready to run.

Then as Don says , start with the OS and let it do its thing. Moving to the driver disc....install each driver with a restart in between. I have had issues previously with installing say chipset, audio, and whatnot all on one run. The restart is just to be safe over sorry!

All I can say is....congrats bro on your first build .. looks like you got some good hardware to start with. Hang around and everyone here will be more than glad to help you out.

Congrats again on your first build.
Just as a warning you'll have so many problems with the system over the first couple months that you'll be eventually be able to fix it in your sleep.
You'll also find that your machine is going to be exactly like your girlfriend, it'll frustrate the hell out of you, but you'll love it anyway.

Not many people know how to build a computer but not now how to install an OS!

Like said, put the disc in!

The bios will already be installed but you should probably update it.

Heres the break down for pricing, Using paypal and windows live I got most of this at 30% cash back on ebay after 60 days so:

Mother board 182 = 127 (+could get a $20 rebate)
hard drives (x3) 364 = 228
processor w/fan 275 = 202
2 x 2 ozc ram 60 = 42 (trying for $20 rebate as well)
His ati 4870x2 519 = 383
Corsair 1000w 239 = 177
Antec full (blue) 55
Fans 25
windows xp 64 Free from another build
using a dell 2405w monitor I bought in 2006

totoal cost $1239 after cash back though if I chose a different card im sure the whole build would be under $1000 easy.
