so guys i want to hear whether you've had problems running older games using the newer i7 processor,
i'e games running to fast/slow ,what games they where, how old they are ,whether you've had to patch them ,
and which one's just won't work using the newer x58 platform no matter what you do

anyone who has this type of pc who isn't a member here can join in by signing up "here"
(it's free and will only take a minute to do so)

Setting core affinity can help with some old games (coz they don`t like quad-cores)

Yeah. Worked for me on Silent hill 2 and I`m still testing it on Rise of the argonauts. Is there a specific game you can`t get to work ?

 i haven't bought one yet still debating which board to get
but deffinately getting one i'm just interested what works and what doesn't
example alien vs predator (the old game that can be downloaded off steam for a small fee)now that doesn't work on this machine whatever i do ,which is damned annoying as i didn't play it much ,even on this old gal it ran far to fast and after i changed graphics cards works even less (i just get a looping sound)(which is what alot of people on the steam forum are suffering from
anyways i'll leave this thread running for now as it's 2:15am here and the neighbour wakes up at 6:45am :cry:

Some older games can kick newer games butts all over the place.

    Newer does not mean better.

i know on GTA III and vice city, you have to set in nvidia control panel when you run these game to turn on Vsync or it will have tons of bugs or just not play at all
