I'll just comment on the "open Box" policy of Newegg in general.

    It is teh suck!

Unless you are absolutely certain that this item is what you want AND the MFG. has a good RMA/Support policy you will get hosed. Shipping costs + restocking fee negate ANY savings you might see on the front end. Sure, you can piss and moan to get them to foot the retun shipping but what a headache.

    Buy new!

That's a pretty nice card too..I like the cooling, I may take off the shrowd on that one tho...I should say I like the looks of what's below it.

That is a sweet price...I dont' know how good MSI's RMA service is though.

I've never purchased open box before. Do these items still carry the manufacturer warranty?

It says "Deactivated Item" on the page.

Open Box means that someone did not like it for the most part.

I bought a few things open box, the motherboard didn't have anything with it, just the board but I have cables and screws and made a driver CD, the video card was just that, a video card in bubble wrap, wrong brand and all. But it was equal to what I ordered.

I've had good and bad Open Box experiences @ the Egg. In one case, a great videocard w/ all the usual accessories. In another case, a totally non-functional videocard in bubblewrap...

I have done open box before without issue. I got an X1800XL and it worked fine till I killed it, got an ASrock dual sata 2 open box fine. If it doesn't work, you send it back for refund.

Despite what the product's description indicates, open box merchandise may not include all of the accessories mentioned on our website or the manufacturers. Newegg.com is therefore limited to the barebone part of the item itself. Please do not be upset or surprised if a open box product does not contain any cables, manual, software, drivers, fan, et al. Newegg.com will not send you any missing accessories, even if it is an essential part.

i bought a swiftech h20-220 kit from newegg open box for $190 not long ago. i figured i had hose, clamps and coolant i could use if that was missing from the kit. well when i got it delivered too me all that was in the kit was the rad! i about shat myself laughing $190 for a rad.

also bought a vid card open box that was doa.

so you deffinatly take your chances. i figure if its an openbox vid card, cpu, or motherboard. it got returned because it was a bad ocer.

Newegg still gives you 15days to return it. I have had a bunch of good deals in OpenBox. Just make sure its a lot less money, if its within 10-$20 I would rather go with retail versions.

I REALLY don't want to say anything about this card. Just save yourself a terrible headache & don't get it. It was more of a test sample than anything & it never worked (drivers wouldn't install & it made my screen look like a chicken wire fence) for me until I voltmodded it witch bothered me to no end. Lets just say that I don't even know where that terror is right now & I usually keep a hold on everything I get.
