Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Codemasters has announced that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be arriving in North American stores on October 6, Europe on October 8, then October 9 in the UK.

The PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 battlefield simulator was originally slated for a summer release but delayed to "balance the player experience throughout the game."

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is developed inhouse at Codemasters. Series creator Bohemia Interactive recently released its own battlefield sim sequel, ArmA 2.

Can you "paint" a ground target with a laser and have an air unit take it out using a guided missile?

That was supposed to be in Battlefield 2, but they removed it late on in development for some reason.

OFP better not turn into a generic FPS

I liked the whole attempt to be realistic like arma2.

that was in one of the expansions for the original game. i remember rampage making maps for us to test it with - you could have one player paint and another do the bombing, or an AI fly the plane.
