Well, I took the plunge. I bought the Xeon X3350 2.66GHz with 12MB L2 cache. Will be here early next week.

What kind of clock for clock speeds do you guys want to see. Mind you I am on a B3 Q6600 so I can only muster 3.3GHz MAX. My system specs are to the left under my avatar. Do you want to see stock speeds (CPU and GPU) with 3D06? OC speeds with CPU and GPU with 06? OC speed with CPU and not GPU? Tell me what.

My guess is that you'll be able to reach about 3.8Ghz 24/7 stable on a nice highend air cooler. People with G0 Kentsfield Xeon X3210/X3320 on this forum have hit 3.6Ghz to 3.8Ghz on air no problem.

CPU gets too hot for 3.5GHz.

Im hoping so. 4Ghz would be nice but im not about to get my hopes up for that. Keep in mind I have an x38 board.

I will be using IC Diamond 7 thermal paste and a Thermaltake V1 CPU cooler.

You should be able to get to 4Ghz with the right settings, but it might be a bit too hot for a V1.

Whats the multiplier on it? If its like 8 then 3.2ghz would be easy (400fsb x 8).

it's an 8 multi ;) x38 boards are some of the best overclocking boards but the dfi x38's are a little hairy. I'd like to see the stock 3d06 benches for both, then the highest oc's scores for both that would be sweet

Just finished my benchmarks for the Q6600 both stock and overclock. I will post them all within the next few days.

Currently i am at stock. I am having issues getting it past 3.2GHz as it wants to lock up for some reason. I dont think its a limitation with the CPU or FSB, but rather some setting on the DFI board. Could be a RAM thing too. Im half tempted to throw some DDR2-800 in there to find out.
