I have been running ATITool from Feb till now and have not had a prob with my video card yet. Starting today, when I run a highly grapical game, it spikes to about 87C. Now I'm not sure what the limit on this card is but it has never gotten that high before. I was running the stable version when it started doing this then I installed the beta just to see if that would work and I still have the prob. Anybody have any ideas?

Is your fan for the GPU still spinning? Did you flash the GFX bios?

The fan appeairs to be running fine. But I have noticed that it isn't spinning as fast as it was. I can hear the fan when it speads up. ATITool displays that it's running at 100% when it heats up but It's nowhere near as loud as it was.

I'm not sure what the GFX is. Sorry I'm a newb when it comes to stuff like this. I just use ATITool for cooling.

perhaps the fan is starting to fail.
might be time to look into a new hsf for that card.

    Graphics card.

    Heatsink with fan.

Try overriding the fanspeed with Atitool to always keep 100% while gaming. Save up for a Zalman VF700 or VF900 or get a Atisilencer.

You would want to keep the card under 75-80 degrees.

i'm running the zalman vf700al-cu on my 7900gt right now, and i'm lovin it.

at full speed, temps don't break 60C, idles at 45C.

Plus, they only cost like $35
